Welcome to the first AUTObiography feature on Subdriven.
A/bs are designed to highlight the relationship between an owner and his or her automobile. We're not just looking for the wildest, most highly modified cars out there - we're simply looking for people who love their Subarus and have a good story to tell. If you think this describes you, please send us your submission, along with some good quality photos of your Subie. Please note that the more interesting/detailed your answers are to our questions, and the better and more varied your photos, the greater your chances will be to see your story on Subdriven. The A/b form and submission info can be found here.
Until we get more submissions, A/bs will appear on Subdriven once a month, but if quality stories start rolling in, we promise to run them more often.
This month's Subdriven A/b feature is N'CTRL
Q: How long have you owned this car?
A: Three years on January 11.
Q: Is there anything unique about the history of this car?
A: This is my first car and it has taught me so many great things.
Q: What was your objective with this car?
A: Within a few months of getting the car, I was very involved with auto-xing. So I started modding around that perspective. Eventually I wasn't able to get to events enough and started to do some visual and more power mods. This is where I'm at today, abd I've also moved onto the stereo.
Q: What tuning style would you describe this car as (ex. Euro, JDM, Bling, OEMplus, street racer, auto crosser)?
A: This is a tough question to answer. As far as styling, for me it's all about Euro looks - even with the big wing I try to stay as clean as possible. For power, I'd have to say auto-xer. I wanted as little lag as possible in a good all around package.
Q: Who helped you build this car?
A: There were so many people who helped me in different ways. From opinions from friends; to parts installations from AZP Installs; to service and tuning from MSPT; to the cool people you meet on the forums.
Q: What makes your car special?
A: It's blue with gold wheels and it has a big wing. On a serious note, I think it's a very well-rounded car. With the exception of the stock stereo (which I don't think sounds bad at all with the premium upgraded speakers)' everything has been taken into consideration - handling, power, stopping, etc.

Q: What is your favorite part/feature/function?
A: Subaru's famous awd system.
Q: Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?
A: Another tough question, as there is no one 'thing' that has helped me. Friends and Team IAC helped the path I've taken with my mods, I suppose. Basically, it just happened where I began modding around my interest in auto-x and I've moved on from there.
Q: What don't you like about this car?
A: The risk of things breaking. The color of the car has become quite common, but I still enjoy how it looks.
Q: What would you change if you could?
A: Maybe the color - I'm pretty happy with how the car is today.
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?
A: 10.
Q: What would you do to the car if money were no object?
A: Store it and buy a Ferrari. That or drop in a closed deck short block with a V5 STi 5spd trans w/ DCCD and add a healthy turbo to match.
Q: Who has been your biggest critic of this project?
A: My friends.
Q: What do your family and friends say about this car?
A: They generally like it. Most of the non-enthusiasts don't like the gold wheels, other than that they think it's good looking and fast.
Q: What is your favorite place to drive this car?
A: Empty backroads or an auto-x course.
Q: What is your ideal day with this car?
A: Take it to an auto-x course and win, then go to a meet and see some local Subies and check out what they've done to their cars.
Q: Who gets to drive this car?
A: Me.
Q: If your car had a motto, what would it be?
A: "Life goes by pretty fast; if you don't stop and take a look around every once in a while... you might miss it." -Ferris Bueller.
Q: If you had to name your car, what would you name it?
A: Alexa
Q: What is your next project?
A: LS2'd '84 Celica GTS.
Q: What one word best describes your car?
A: Rounded.
